the magnificent 7

uprise sponsors SW7 event

We’re delighted to be co-sponsoring the Sam Warburton Charity Evening along with Uprise Print and  Castle Court Consulting. The SW7 event is being held to celebrate the Wales and British and Irish Lions Captain reaching his 50th cap for Wales, and will take place at the Millennium Stadium later this month.

All proceeds raised from the evening will be donated to Sam’s two preferred charities, Velindre Cancer Centre and #staystrongforows, the charity set up to help former Cardiff Blues and Wales player, Owen Williams, who was paralysed during a rugby tournament in Singapore last summer.

Hosted by BT Sport Rugby presenter, Sara Elgan, the evening will feature an interview with the two so-called ‘Magnificent 7s’ – Sam and his fellow number 7 and former Blues and Wales team-mate, Martyn Williams. There will also be a Q&A hosted by Scrum V presenter, Ross Harries, with current Wales internationals, Dan Lydiate and Scott Williams, who will be sharing their thoughts on the forthcoming World Cup.

Guests at the sold-out event will be treated to a three-course meal and a solo acoustic set by the lead singer of the Manic Street Preachers, James Dean Bradfield, a fellow regular supporter of Velindre Cancer Centre. A specialist cancer treatment centre in Cardiff, Velindre provides non-surgical cancer care to over 5,000 new referrals and over 50,000 new outpatients each year. In addition, West-End star, Sophie Evans will also perform during the course of the evening

There will also be an auction, with guests having the opportunity to bid for memorabilia donated by Sam Warburton including a one-off SW7 Grogg, the match shirt worn by Sam in the dramatic victory over Ireland in the 2015 RBS 6 Nations, and a training session with Sam at the Cardiff Arms Park.

The SW7 event is going to be a great night and we’re proud to be a part of it.
