Delivering A New Site and Brand Identity for Badminton Wales
Adding to our portfolio of leading names within the Welsh sporting arena, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve been appointed to design and develop a new brand identity, corporate logo and responsive website for Badminton Wales, as part of a project to improve user experience and increase engagement with the Badminton community in the Principality.
About Badminton Wales
Founded in 1928, originally as the Welsh Badminton Union, Badminton Wales is the governing body of the sport within Wales. Today, it has over 2000 members across more than 90 clubs across the country.
As well as providing the support to drive up performance at the elite end of the sport, Badminton Wales is also charged with increasing participation at grassroots and school-age level. Through new initiatives, including the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) Shuttle Time, more than 1 million school children have participated in the sport over the past decade; with around 8,000 children throughout Wales playing Badminton on a weekly basis.
A Modern Approach
Building on the success of these engagement initiatives, Badminton Wales are now looking for a modernisation of both their brand identity and digital presence; to be a reflection of the positive, progressive work being carried out by the organisation and coaches across Wales.
Working in collaboration with the key Badminton Wales stakeholders, we’ll be delivering a new logo, which will have the dual role of being the symbol of their new progressive strategies, while also maintaining their heritage as a long-standing Welsh sports brand.
The New Website
Complimenting the new logo and brand will be a modern, responsively designed website. This will offer visitors an improved user experience, allowing for easy, seamless navigation to the key areas of the site via desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile.
It will be instrumental in delivering the key organisational messages of high performance and increased participation across every level, and every age-group.
The site itself will be developed on the thinkCMS content management system, to allow Badminton Wales to ensure the site remains dynamic and current, by adding new content, blogs, images and media to the site. It will give the staff at Badminton Wales full control of the content of the website. This was identified as an important factor, with the aim of the new site to become a hub of information and vibrant destination for the extended Welsh badminton community.
This, it is hoped, will help further encourage new member sign-ups, while providing a simple pathway to enter tournaments, and access news, events and Badminton-related media from around the world.
