Wrap up warm, there’s a code freeze on the way
The decorations are up.
The festive ads are on the TV.
And the mince pies are in the office. So it’s beginning to look a lot like that time of year!
Which not only means that the office Christmas party is on the horizon but also heralds the annual UpriseVSI code freeze.
What’s a code freeze?
Everyone needs a rest, even the website development team here at UpriseVSI.
Like Santa’s little helpers, they’ve been working hard behind the scenes to design and develop websites for our clients all year.
Let’s be honest, the week before Christmas isn’t the best time to launch a new website.
So we take a pause over the festive period; aka a code freeze.
What does it mean?
Basically, all activities relating to coding will pause.
So there will be;
- No website launches
- No developments released to websites
- No new developments instigated
However, the reality is that we don’t have a complete rest. We’ll actually use this time to do planned maintenance work.
Plus other activities will continue. Including;
- Support services
- Ongoing developments
- Planned projects
- Business critical fixes
When will it happen?
The code freeze will start on Monday the 18th of December, 2017 until Tuesday the 2nd of January, 2018.
How will this affect me as a client?
You shouldn’t see any impact at all.
All of our ongoing projects will have taken the code freeze into account and we wouldn’t have planned on launching any new websites or developments during this period anyway.
Once we get to the New Year, activity will resume (with or without hangovers!).
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
Otherwise, we’ll see you in the New Year.
PS. If you’re not planning on updating your website anytime soon, maybe you should take advantage of our free website audit.
You might change your mind!
