BACKGROUND

Specialising in Part L of the Building Regulations, Melin Consultants provide energy modelling calculations including BREEAM assessments, SAP & SBEM calculations, air tightness tests and a selection of other services.

The Brief

Melin asked us to refresh their brand identity and create a new digital presence using SEO and social media. They wanted to rank for the search terms that were relevant for their business sector, creating content that both their existing and prospective clients would find informative, insightful and helpful.

LOGO & BRAND IDENTITY

Melin’s new logo replaced a sprouting branch, all too typical in the sustainable building sector, with one that took inspiration from the origin of the business.

Having renovated an old water mill, Mel and Jamie Best, the husband and wife team behind Melin, decided to name their new business after it. Melin being “mill” in Welsh.

Earthy colours match the environmental credentials of the business, with a stylised and flattened mill wheel with a modern sans-serif font making up the new Melin brand.

SEO & SOCIAL MEDIA

The content team at upriseVSI maintain a regular flow of blogs and case studies on the Melin website. A mixture of articles highlight industry knowledge and advice, updates on the business and trends in the world of sustainable construction. These are then shared via Melin’s social media accounts on Twitter and LinkedIn.

All content is optimised for search terms that Melin’s prospective clients are using when looking for the services they offer. As a result, Melin has seen a marked increase in both their followers on social media and visitors to their website.

MARKETING MATERIAL

To supplement the Melin brand, we have also created additional marketing material, including a new brochure and the Melin Euro 2016 wall chart.
